The centre-left opposition on Thursday blocked parliament saying work would only resume when they got a vote on government action against Israel over the Gaza war.
"We want the government to tell us concretely what it intends or does not intend to do to stop this disgrace," said the 5-Star Movement (M5S).
"Whether it intends to side with those who want to sanction Israel or not.
"They say they are not complicit in the genocide.
for us, they are, in every respect." The centre-left Democratic Party (PD) said: "We prevented the Chamber from continuing its work as usual today and reiterated to (Lower House President Lorenzo) Fontana that we are not available to resume work without government communications on Gaza that would lead to a vote. "Work will be suspended today, and will resume on Tuesday," and before then, "we are confident we will have a firm date."
